Maintenance, repair and validation - we offer you service from a single source. It's important for us to look at the big picture: that's why our service center accompanies you throughout your entire inquiry. And it's so easy: 

  1. Initiate a service request via our online form or by phone 030 75 79 11 22.

  2. Our service center will contact you for further coordination (if necessary, remote diagnosis, planning of service time, provision of spare parts) and to set up an appointment.

  3. Your MELAG hygiene technician will visit you in your practice. Through the initial meeting, our hygiene technicians already have all the necessary information to provide you with an efficient service on site.

  4. Finally, you will receive the invoice for the successful service visit from our service center.

Regular maintenance is essential for value retention, reliable practice operation and safety. During maintenance, all function and safety-relevant components and electrical equipment must be checked and, if necessary, replaced. Maintenance must be carried out according to the maintenance instructions by a trained service technician.

Regular maintenance allows you to plan ahead and avoid service calls at short notice. But with our maintenance and travel flat rates, we give you even more security: Because our flat rates offer clear, uniform and transparent planning - without hidden costs! This means that you have a precise overview of the scope of maintenance and the costs even before the maintenance date.

Tell us now the name of your MELAG product with serial number and receive from us a maintenance offer at a flat rate.

To ensure that the hygiene technician on site is equipped with the materials and parts required for the repair or maintenance of your device, your service order will be analyzed in advance. In addition to your contact and address data for your practice, we also need the serial number and error message of the device, if applicable. In addition, you have the option of entering a preferred date and time and other information that is important to you in our callback form.

Many minor malfunctions can be easily remedied and do not necessarily require the intervention of a hygiene technician. To identify error messages of your MELAG device quickly and easily, please use our troubleshooting portal. With the help of recommended actions, you can often solve problems yourself.  
If the displayed solution does not lead to the desired success, please contact us via our callback service. Our service center will then carry out an initial remote diagnosis free of charge and, if necessary, arrange for a repair to be carried out in your practice.

No problem - we have kept everything for you. You will find all related user documents of your MELAG device around the clock and digitally retrievable in our download center. After selecting your MELAG product, all files are available for you to download online.

Validation of instrument reprocessing provides documented proof that a process meets the previously specified requirements in practice. The requirements for validation of the instrument reprocessing process are derived from the Medical Devices Operator Ordinance § 8 para. 1:

"The reprocessing of medical devices intended for use in a low-germ or sterile state must be carried out, taking into account the manufacturer's specifications, using suitable validated procedures in such a way that the success of these procedures can be verifiably guaranteed and the safety and health of patients, users or third parties is not endangered. This also applies to medical devices that are disinfected or sterilized prior to initial use."

Operating conditions at the site of installation, e.g. loading arrangements and packaging types, can affect the outcome of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization. For this reason, validation of cleaning and disinfection processes in the thermo washer disinfector and sterilization processes in the autoclave includes the following three steps:

1. installation qualification (IQ) includes the basic checks of:

  • Constructional environment and installation

  • Completeness of the documents belonging to the device

  • Documentation and organization

  • Technical equipment of the device

2. the Operational Qualification (OQ) includes:

  • Calibration of physical process parameters such as media dosing and temperature

  • Adjustments

  • Checking of safety-related equipment

  • Control of process-relevant fault messages

  • Documentation of program batches

3. performance qualification (PQ) includes:

  • Definition of the reference load(s)

  • In the case of washer-disinfectors: testing of cleaning performance on real contaminated instruments and defined test specimens (usually crile clamps)

  • Testing of process-relevant parameters and their curves with the aid of suitable loggers (pressure, temperature)

  • For washer disinfectors: testing of process media for dosing accuracy and possible residues

For the IQ and OQ areas, the validation service provider will usually request documents (factory test protocol, declarations of conformity, installation and familiarization protocol, etc.) in advance of the performance qualification, which have been handed over to the practice in the event of proper installation and familiarization. To maintain reproducibility over time, routine testing of equipment and process documentation of relevant parameters are used. In addition, the validation result is checked by a re-performance assessment after a certain time interval. Re-validation is usually understood to be the periodic or occasion-related review of the process tested in the initial validation. However, the correct term is "renewed performance assessment" or "renewed performance qualification".
