75 years of MELAG – and a look ahead: what does the future hold for instrument reprocessing? This question was the focus of MELAG’s anniversary weekend in Berlin. More than 1,000 partners, customers and practice teams from 55 countries came together to celebrate two special milestones: 75 years of MELAG and the world premiere of the new MELAcare reprocessing and maintenance unit.
On Saturday evening, the anniversary was celebrated at Spindler & Klatt, one of Berlin’s renowned event venues. Staff, partners and numerous guests from practices, clinics and companies in the dental and medical sectors raised a toast together to the 75-year history of the Berlin-based family business.
Since its foundation in 1951, MELAG has stood for innovation, quality and responsibility “Made in Germany”. What began as a young business in post-war Berlin has grown into a leading international provider in the field of practice hygiene and instrument reprocessing.
Among the guests were well-known practice teams such as Dr Petra Volz’s Fotzn’spanglerei and Dr Juliane Steidten’s Mundgesund. In addition, numerous influencers, representatives from dental and medical practices, clinics, and executives from leading industry companies took the opportunity to engage in personal exchanges and networking.
The celebrations, dancing and laughter continued into the early hours of the morning. In a special atmosphere, the evening impressively demonstrated what makes MELAG stand out: strong partnerships, a unique team spirit and a shared commitment to actively shaping the future of instrument reprocessing.
75 years of MELAG and a new product launch: the day before the big anniversary party, the MELAG Innovation Day 2026 took place at the company’s Berlin headquarters. Around 400 specialist retail partners and guests from all over the world came together to gain exclusive insights into the company and the latest MELAG innovation.
The day began where MELAG’s innovative solutions are created: at the modern factory in Berlin. After a warm welcome, the international guests were given exclusive insights into production. Across a total of 13 guided tours, they were able to experience first-hand how quality, precision, team spirit and innovative strength come together at MELAG.
This was followed by the 75th-anniversary presentation, inspiring MELAcare keynotes and an entertaining quiz, which provided fresh inspiration, exciting insights and a lively exchange of ideas.
The highlight of the day finally awaited the guests high above the rooftops of Berlin: the launch of MELAcare, MELAG’s latest innovation for instrument reprocessing and care. At the MELAG event area, with its impressive view over Berlin, participants were able to experience the new features up close and engage directly with the experts.
