MELAG Hygiene Partner's Award 2025: Two Japanese clinics recognised for their vision of sustainable hygiene

During discussions with Japanese medical teams, we were able to share our expertise, but also listen to their challenges, local practices and expectations. These exchanges feed into our ability to adapt our solutions and ensure rigorous implementation of infection protocols, in line with the realities of each country.

The rigour, curiosity and commitment of the professionals we met were particularly inspiring. These moments also reinforced our conviction that the success of an infection prevention system depends not only on technology, but also on training, culture and collective commitment.

Located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Fujimoto Dental Clinic embodies a culture where infection control is embedded in daily routines and shared values.

After relocating the clinic in 2020, Director Dr. Shinji Fujimoto initiated a complete transformation of workflows, infrastructure, and team culture.

This included:

• Daily operational checks to verify system readiness

• A strong sense of collective responsibility toward safety

The clinic now centres around a purpose-built sterilization zone, seamlessly integrating safe patient flows, intelligent equipment placement, and clear separation of clean and contaminated areas.
