Depending on the type of instrument, two specialised lids are available. The MELAcare Blue lid cleans, disinfects and maintains up to six handpieces, contra-angles, turbines or contra-angle heads in just 17 minutes. The Green lid is designed for up to six ZEG tips with torque wrenches, ultrasonic handpieces, Sprayvit nozzles or prophylaxis handpieces, and completes cleaning and disinfection within 14 minutes. MELAcare automatically recognises the lid used and suggests the appropriate programme, thereby simplifying operation and supporting a systematic workflow.

Cleaning is carried out using ULTRAflow technology. This involves passing compressed-air-accelerated, fully demineralised water through the instruments – entirely without the use of process chemicals. The instruments are then thermally disinfected at approximately 95 °C and an A0 value of 3,000. With the Blue lid, oil maintenance of the gear channels in rotating instruments is also carried out. Finally, the spray and drive channels are flushed with compressed air, dried and gently cooled. Collet maintenance can be carried out independently of the reprocessing cycle via the integrated maintenance station. Documentation and release are carried out directly on the large Smart-Touch display, as well as via the network or USB.

Thanks to its short cycle times, MELAcare is specifically designed for reprocessing between treatments. Up to 144 instruments can be reprocessed per working day. With the intelligent additional cooling system, they are ready for use again just five minutes after the end of the process. This makes MELAcare an efficient addition to existing reprocessing set-ups, particularly for practices with a high volume of instruments – especially where proven individual solutions, fast processing times and high availability are key priorities.

Careclave: The cost-effective 4-in-1 solution for compact reprocessing rooms (AEMP)

Careclave is aimed in particular at new practice owners and those modernising their practices who require both a high-performance autoclave and a solution for the reprocessing and maintenance of transmissible instruments. With a width of just 48 cm, the system combines four functions in a single unit: cleaning, disinfection and maintenance of transmissible instruments, as well as the sterilisation of other instruments. This makes Careclave particularly suitable for practices with a low to medium volume of instruments that wish to organise their reprocessing procedures efficiently within a limited floor space. The unit measures 48 × 50 × 65.3 cm, although the height increases to 56.2 cm when the display is included.

Despite its compact design, Careclave offers a high sterilisation capacity: up to 11 kg of instruments can be sterilised per cycle on eight long trays or in four MELAstore boxes. In addition, up to eight transmission or prophylaxis instruments can be reprocessed in a Carebox within just 16 to 18 minutes. Combined use is particularly efficient: whilst Careclave cleans, disinfects and, if necessary, maintains the instruments in the Carebox, further instruments can be sterilised simultaneously on trays in the rear section of the chamber.

Two Carebox variants are available for different types of instruments. The Carebox Blue is designed for up to eight turbines as well as handpieces and contra-angles, and supplements the reprocessing process with automatic oil maintenance. The patented iDOS dosing system ensures precise and reproducible maintenance of the instruments. The Carebox Green reprocesses up to eight prophylaxis handpieces and ZEG tips using a torque wrench. Careclave automatically recognises the Carebox in use and adapts the programme selection to the specific load.

Once the programme has finished, collet maintenance can be carried out directly on the unit via the integrated ADDcare maintenance station. This step is particularly important, as inadequate collet maintenance is one of the most common causes of failures and costly repairs to transmission instruments.
