For over 30 years, the health of her patients has been the top priority for Dr. Eva-Maria Hager from Wächtersbach. When she co-founded the ZAHNTEAM group practice with Dr. Norbert Voß in 2008, it fulfilled a long-awaited desire: more freedom for individual patient treatment and the needs of their 13-member practice team. To meet this demand, the practice focuses on continuous education and the integration of innovative technology.
Being challenged daily with new challenges, as well as new solutions, is what particularly excites us about aesthetic dentistry and endodontics.
An essential element of our treatment is the instruments, especially our handpieces and contra-angles from Dentsply Sirona. To be able to use them again on patients as quickly as possible, we needed a fast reprocessing method and a way to avoid costly repairs.
For many years, the instrument reprocessing process was very complex and time-consuming. Our team spent a lot of time in the reprocessing room, which often meant we lacked time for other urgent tasks. When we learned about the innovative concept of Careclave in early 2021, we were immediately excited and had to test the device as soon as possible because the combination of reprocessing and care device for dental hollow-body instruments and autoclave presented a huge opportunity for us to save resources.
Our workflow starts with transporting the instruments to the reprocessing room. Our sterile supply assistant takes care of loading the Carebox with up to 8 transfer instruments. The innovative dosing system ensures precise reprocessing for each instrument, even if there are empty adapters in the Carebox.
Once the Carebox is hooked in, we still have space for additional trays. The flexible loading options prepare us perfectly for any situation in the practice, and we get our instruments back to patients much faster, specifically after 18 minutes. Additionally, the instrument heads are oiled according to the manufacturer's instructions once a week. The spanners are maintained with a fully synthetic oil using the ADDcare maintenance station in the door of the Careclave. We have been using this function for a few months now and have noticed a decrease in the number of failures and repairs.
We also recommend the new 4-in-1 device concept, which combines the processes of cleaning, disinfection, care, sterilization, and documentation into one product, to other practices. We have more space in the reprocessing room and save a lot of time and, ultimately, money through efficient reprocessing cycles.
