Chapter 7.2: Replacing the MELAdem 47 cartridges and filters of an autoclave:
The water treatment unit MELAdem 47 supplies the autoclave with large quantities of demineralized water. Learn how to replace the MELAem 47 mixed bed resin cartridges as well as the activated carbon and fine filters in the video tutorial.
With MELAdem 47, approx. 3 liters of demineralized water can be produced per hour in an environmentally friendly and inexpensive manner. This allows several MELAG autoclaves to be supplied with aqua dem at the same time.
During each sterilization, the conductivity of the demineralized water is checked and a warning message is issued in case of poor quality. If a warning message appears, the mixed bed resin cartridge should be replaced. Please observe the following process when replacing the MELAdem 47 mixed-bed resin cartridge:
1. Before replacing the cartridges, the water tap of the supply line and the shut-off tap of the pressure tank must be closed.
2. Draw some water from the tap to achieve a pressureless condition of the water treatment system.
3. You can now open the cartridge container with the key.
4. The water in the cartridge container can be poured into the drain. The mixed bed resin cartridge can be disposed in the household waste.
5. Insert the new cartridge into the rinsed cartridge container and screw it tight. When inserting the new cartridge, please make sure that the flat seal of the cartridge points upwards.
In addition to replacing the mixed bed resin cartridge, the fine filter and the activated carbon filter must be replaced at least once a year. Please follow the process for replacing the MELAdem 47 cartridges as shown in the video.
